Hi there!
You clicked on 'About me' because, I assume, you wanted to learn something about me.
I'm a video producer. I film and edit videos. I make 2 and 3D animations. And I create motion graphics. Since March of 2021, I am also proud owner of my own video production company, Find Mind Media LLC.
Over the past 15 years as a media professional, I have produced for both TV/international broadcasting and radio, hosted live radio broadcasts, hosted TV shows, and directed on-camera talent, camera crew and video editors in a professional broadcast TV setting. I have interviewed people ranging from policy makers in Washington DC, to policy experts and analysts, to scientists, to folks on the street for my varied portfolio of news and feature stories.
The drive and passion to explore questions, my experience in successfully identifying engaging visual stories and years of creating targeted messaging and media products continue to permeate everything I do today.
Prior to founding Find Mind Media LLC in 2021, I worked at the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs at the National Science Foundation, where I edited videos/visual media, and created animations and motion graphics for use on the National Science Foundation's web platforms, YouTube and ROKU channels, and in high-level presentations and talks by NSF leadership and staff. I also edited video products released with special announcements and press events like that for the first image of a black hole, evidence of the first stars, and detection of neutrino particles
I also worked with various directorates at the NSF to create visual media customized to special reports, events and campaigns. You'll find some of my favorites, like a series of comics to promote the GenNano competition, and a cartoon/animation for the Year of Light special report, here on my site.
If you want to learn more about how NSF has used my work, I edited all but 3 of the videos you see in NSF's congress toolkit. I also created motion graphics, animations and did special effects work on these, where needed.

Before joining Prime Meridian Media's onsite team at the NSF, I was reporter/producer/ on-air talent for Urdu TV at another federal agency, the Voice of America. From 2007-2012, I wrote, reported on, produced and edited news, analysis and feature segments on subjects ranging from politics to science for international broadcast and use on the web.
Urdu TV's programming was broadcast on major Pakistani channels including GEO, Aaj, and Express News, boasting millions of daily viewers via cable and satellite.
If you are interested in seeing samples of my work for VOA, I suggest this story on presidential reading habits that I wrote, produced and reported, a portion of a long-form science-related TV feature on plastics that I wrote, produced and reported, and this episode about visual media and violence that I produced and edited, from a series of shows viewing life in the US through the eyes of a Pakistani visitor. You can find more of my work as an international broadcasting producer/reporter in the Broadcasting Frequencies section on my website.

Since 2000, I've also been a media consultant with VISION, a community-based, change-focused non-profit organization, working on issues around child protection, and the rights, safety and security of LGBTI and other marginalized/minority groups and communities in Pakistan. I've advised VISION's team through the creation of several of their documentary products, including 'Madhu the mystic', retelling the story of the love between the mystic Madhu Lal and his mentor, Shah Hussain.

Visual media and communication: That's my day job.
I am also an artist. I paint in watercolors, and I bring my passion for painting to my day job. Design custom motion graphics based on a visually arresting color scheme and key messages? No problem!
I like to sketch things. It's another thing I bring to my day job. Need an original drawing, animation, or artwork to build a campaign? I'm so there!
I am a student of human nature and psychology, human behavior, mythologies and visual media. That makes me a nerd. But also rather handy with creating action-focused communication. Have a message that needs to go 'out there', hit someone's eye and change their mind? Let's chat!

I am a writer. Back when I was finishing up my undergrad degree in Psychology, I wrote features and book reviews for the Nation, a major daily newspaper in Pakistan. It wasn't just the first media job I ever had, it was also my first love. I still write. Over time, I've gone from writing feature stories, to writing news scripts and features for TV, and now I write anything and everything I can get my hands on.

And, you guessed it, I take this passion to my day job too.
With all the skills and passion I bring to my day job, you might wonder if my day job has given me anything back:
I've put some of my spare time in learning to play the violin, and I made it to grade 2 before I quit classes. I think I caught the bug while mixing music for my video pieces. I don't mind. It really was quite fun. Also, I really enjoyed learning to read sheet music, which I still do when I listen to classical music. And I'm dabbling a bit in making videos for my YouTube channel (Amina's Food Board), where I bring excitement and variety back to healthy eating with my simple recipes.
So, now that you know a little something about me, I hope you will take a moment to click through my portfolio, or drop me a line through the contact form. If you have a visual media project that's challenging, unique or just plain nuts, I might be very, very interested in working with you.
Cheers!
Amina
